MY OPINION
The eye shadows come in an array of exquisite colours. They are very pigmented and do not crease at all even without an eye primer. They give a smooth, satiny finish and it is very easy to blend them. I love their packaging, it is so sleek and can be easily carried around. These eyeshadows bring out the best in you, in both day and night time. The light shimmer in them reflects so beautifully in the light. Plus, they last very long. The only con I find is that they are not available in Pakistan.

HEIRESS (Pearlized)

It is a frosty light pink. Sadly, inspite of the sturdy bubble wrapped packing it came in, this eye shadow got damaged. It gives a very glamorous look if used at night. I’d like to skip this eyeshadow for the daytime as it is a li’l too glittery. In my opinion, it makes more awesome of a highlight than an eye shade. This particular eyeshadow also has a slight fallout.

RATING

STUDIO 54 (Shimmer)

A very beautiful shimmery lavender, this shade is my love. Unfortunately, in my hasty excitement, I plunged my own finger into the eyeshadow :( Perfect for both night and day time I feel like a princess wearing it. :P

PRICE
$16.95
You can buy it online from Motives Cosmetics.

MY OPINION
I got the Motives Lustrafy Mascara in Black Out. This is certainly a magical mascara in defining my non-existent lashes. I applied this mascara and I was like WOW. It lengthened my lashes and gave them volume. What I like best is that without using a lash curler, it significantly curls my lashes. While applying I had to be a little cautious as its formula is a little wet and it smears otherwise. But after that I did not see any clumping or smudging at all. The wand gives you a hold on each and every lash. And the mascara lasts as long as you don’t wash your face. Personally, for daily routine I prefer non-waterproof mascaras over waterproof ones. I don’t like going through the ordeal of rubbing mascaras off daily. I'd say this mascara is MUST and does what it claims.

See what a
noticeable difference this mascara makes in my lashes with only one coat. I LOVE IT!

NOTD : The not-so-perfect Red Fence

-this is a scheduled post-

I know the nail art is a little messy. I am just posting it for fun. Sometimes I get so excited that I forget to notice tiny details before shooting away. I have a very unsteady hand, I suck at art and this is my first ever attempt at nail art, so excitement was due. Behold this not-so-perfect nail art, and try not to be too judgmental :P

I was inspired by a youtube tutorial. I have used a Flormar Super Shine 03 as golden base and a red nail polish from my BEAUTY BASICS nail manicure kit on top.

*fingers crossed* that you like it! =D

Note: Off to Vacations

Hey y’all,

Yayy! I am leaving for vacations. I am not sure if I’ll be able to get a stable internet connection there so I’ll see you guys after some time :( I’ll try to keep in touch through my mobile, in whatever time I get. I have a scheduled post which I will publish soon.

Press Release: Autumn Look Rouge Bunny Rouge ( A Cappella)

Rouge Bunny Rouge introduces you to their new look - A CAPPELLA

One of the most timeless make-up trends is the pure nude look displaying femininity and unadulterated naturalness. “A Cappella” brings together Yulia and Alina to show appealing softness and freshness in combination with a warm glow, naturally flushed cheeks and a slight shimmer highlight on the lips for an ultra polished nude look. Delicate neutrals appear barely visible as a hint of cheek colour to underline the healthy look and on the eyes to add more vibrancy. It is a polished day-look, perfect during summer season, and also when you prefer light products and a soft make-up.

This is the LOOK VIDEO:

“A Cappella” is characterised by two basic elements which are absolutely essential for such a flawless look: mattified skin and covered imperfections. The essence of the look is to create a very soft make-up for which only perfecting products are important. Our make-up artists used only our two concealer pens and a primer to achieve “A Cappella”; foundations and powders are not necessarily a must.

FACE

·         DELIQUESCE Make-up Melt Cleanser
·         METAMORPHOSES Mattifiying Primer
·         NAKED DISGUISE Glide Concealer
·         FINE-SPUN LIGHT Luminous Skin Wand

EYES
·         EYES WIDE OPEN Brightening Liner Duo
·         SILK AETHER Long-lasting Cream Eye Shadow ‘Brocade Skipper’
·         SMITHEREENS OF STARS Eye Gloss ‘Angels Play’

CHEEKS & LIPS
·         JOYS & DESIRES Decadent Duo ‘Flamenco – Duende’
·         SWELL BLISS XXX Lip Gloss

“A Cappella” is both easy and fast to create with these perfecting products but do not forget about cleansing your face deeply in the evening. Remove your make-up every evening with our Make-up Melt Cleanser and treat yourself with a lymphatic massage for a pleasant relaxation and refreshed skin.

Blog of the Week #4

The fourth blog on my list is here because of its extensive reach. Neither limited nor devoted to one or two shades in the ‘girl world’, it’s a prism of all possible shades and what a crafted prism it is.

Indian Vanity Case – Jack of All Trades, and Master Too

Cynthia Z is an Indian blogger. She is an expert on anything and everything girly. The products that she reviews are as interesting as is what she has to say about them. The ease and wit of her opinions was what first drove me to comment on her post. Her blog perks me up and it is no surprise when I am done falling in love with her reviews (which I forgot to mention are an amalgamation of gorgeous photos and sexy writing) I am also done saluting her genius at making people crack up while reading about makeup. I could sum her blog up in four words: come enlightenment, come humour!

My Favourite Post

The Body Shop Butter Duo because this was the first post that me made want to comment because I couldn't stop grinning on how she put everything.

Review: Rimmel London Match Perfection Concealer

Many people are of the view that this concealer has an edge over the YSL Touche Eclat. Let’s see how far is this true?

RIMMEL LONDON SAYS
Skin Tone adapting concealer.
2 in 1 concealer and highlighter in a clever tube with an application brush. Banish signs of fatigue and illuminate the eye area. With an oxygen complex. Lets skin breathe.

PRICE
PKR 570 (£ 5.99)
You can buy it online from Superdrug Stores and Boots.

FACTS AND FIGURES

The concealer comes in a 7-ml squeeze-tube with a brush applicator. It has three shades: Ivory, Classic Beige and Soft Beige. It is a tone adapting concealer which also highlights the areas you apply to.

I bought the shade Classice Beige 030.

MY OPINION
I tested this concealer for a whole week before writing this review. I bought the darker shade because I have a lot of dark circles and the light shade make my eye area appear ghostly. Here is a swatch below:

This concealer provides very natural-looking coverage. Most concealers tend to appear cakey or crease, it does not. It can be finely blended with a brush or a finger. You need to squeeze the tube for the product to come out and it may get difficult to control the amount, but you just need to get the hang of it. The best part about this is nobody knows you are wearing a concealer. The worst part is that people with very bad dark circles may not benefit much from it. They will need to apply a colour corrector before applying it. This concealer perfectly suits me and it lasts for a good couple of hours. It didn't last the entire day but the climate here is too hot and humid, that even a lipstick would melt :P As for the highlighting part, yes it does brighten my eye area, making me look less tired.

RATING

If you don’t have awful dark circles and you are looking for something natural to hide them, this concealer is for you. And I'll definitely buy it again because this is the best concealer I have owned so far.

Review: Saeed Ghani Skin Polish

This review was requested by K.A in the May - Top 8.

SAEED GHANI SAYS
Gentle enough for everyday use, or as often as desired. Deeply cleans any area of the face & body and removes dead skin cells. Beneficial for teen and adult acne or blackheads. Excellent cleanser for normal, oily and dry skin.

PRICE
PKR 135
It is available at all Saeed Ghani outlets. You can also buy online HERE.

PRODUCT FACTS
It comes in a 100-ml spray bottle. It is very similar to the Rose Water except for the colour which is yellow.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Moisten face, spray and apply with finger tips. Massage gently. Rinse well and pat dry. Use every day.

MY OPINION
The first mistake I did was to use it like Rose Water. Hah! And I ended up with a yellow face. So, the rinsing off part is very important.

I have clear skin and I normally don’t suffer from any severe problems of acne or blackheads. I bought this Skin Polish just because it was pretty inexpensive and kind of tempting. I keep it in the fridge and sometimes (not every day, because I forget) I spray it on my face and rinse off. I’d say it really makes me feel cleaner and because I use it cold I feel refreshing too. It may work on mild acne but I have doubt about serious acne problems. The good part is that this Skin Polish is suitable for all skin types.

RATING

I’d say give it a try. It is not expensive and does clean your skin and makes it glow.  Plus, you can easily carry it around in your handbag. But it is not something out-of-the-ordinary. I won’t buy it again because there are many other things that make me feel clean.

Have you tried this Skin Polish?

Blog of the Week UPDATE

Hey beautiful ladies,

I am very sorry to say that with each day I get increasingly busy and it is getting harder and harder to meet the weekly deadline. And when I do I start slacking on reviews and other posts. Review: Gift Boxes from Gift Icing

Many of you facebook followers may know that I have a friend who makes packaging solutions under the name Gift Icing. I bought some gift boxes from her and I wanted to bring the exotic collection in front of you too.

They say:
"Gift Icing caters to your need of pampering your loved ones with super-affordable and out-of-the-box packaging solutions."

It is tormenting to buy gifts let alone having to wrap them to look as exquisite as they deserve. Gift Icing brings an array of mouth watering, ready-to-hand-over gift boxes in appropriate sizes with the leverage of ordering beforehand whatever size you require with whatever particular design that you want. With satin wraps and smears of sparkling beads in beds of intricately modeled petals with choice ribbons and mirrors, giving such a gift box to loved ones alone is a treat in itself. What's best that each and every design is made from scratch and is one of a kind.

These are the few I bought.

And this is a ‘perfectly girly’ pair of pins which I was lucky to receive as a gift and which I wear whenever I want to add a bit of ‘glitz and glam’.

What more can anybody want than making your gifts worth your loved ones inside and out and that too in your budget.

Gift Icing is on FACEBOOK . Join them and place your orders. They deliver all over Pakistan.

Below I have put up some more pictures.

June - Hits and Misses

Last month I started with the Top 8. Then I thought we always talk about things we should buy, why not talk about those things as well which we should not buy. So from now on I'll be doing Hits and Misses of every month. For the month of June, the Hits and Misses are:

HITS

1. The Body Shop Shea Body Butter

Ooh I just love this thing. It's a non-greasy, non-sticky, super-moisturising body butter that makes you feel all soft. It smells heavenly. Feeling yourself smell like this the whole day is something nobody should miss.

2. Luscious Twilight Kit

I have used a lot of these eye shadows this month. They are very pigmented and I love the vibrant array of colours. The only con is that they are a bit flaky. But c'mon you get four lip glosses and a pretty pink shimmer with it.

3. John Frieda Frizz-Ease Serum

You know this is a hair-saver ;) Click HERE for the review.

4. ST. Ives Apricot Face Wash

Ah! This thing makes me feel so fresh and clean. It has got microbeads which gently cleans your face and prevent breakouts.
MISSES

1. Saeed Ghani Sandal Whitening Milk

This thing gave me a massive breakout. It is too moisturising for my combination skin. And in this hot, humid Summer I don't even want to use it on my feet. It's kind of oily too. Though I do plan to try it out again in Winter to see if it gives any different results.

2. Rivaj UK Eyeshadow Primer

What a downer! It is so hard to get a good primer here. When I went to buy this I had only three options: MAC - which is way out of my budget, Karaja - of which I have read so many bad reviews already, and the third this Rivaj UK. Thank god it is not that expensive because it ruins my eye makeup before I even apply it.

Hope you enjoyed going thorugh my June's Hits and Misses. Keep on a look out for more at the beginning of each month.

Blog of the Week #3

This particular blog stood apart the day I first saw it and continues to stand apart from all others to this day. It is its sheer magic that literally torments me as a fellow blogger. And will leave you starstruck. What makes the blogger’s every post even more enchanting is that each buds off from a carefully chosen inspiration, be it a piece of jewellery or a certain movie. I bring to you Blog of the Week # 3 :

Padmita’s Make Up Blog – Bringing the Most Outrageous of Fantasies to Life

Padmita is a make up blogger from Germany. She excels in the eye looks that she creates. Her blog is a recluse for every make up fan and aspiring make up blogger. Or rather I should say that she has made for all of her followers a whole territory of eye make up from which to copy, learn or just look at them for the heck of it. Also at the end of every look is a brisk, no-nonsense list of products used in the concerned post.

The cherry on the top is the endearing names that she gives to each of her look and that I absolutely love. The one that made me go wow was “Oasis”.

My Favourite Post
This is the look that has dazzled me the most.

And I love this 'Pakistani bride inspired look' just because it is Pakistani. ;)
