THE BASICS
EOS (Evolution of Smooth) Lip Balm is available in 6 flavours out which I purchased Summer Fruit. It is dome-shaped and comes in a sphere pot.

With huge expectations I finally try this hyped EOS Lip balm!

MY OPINION
Who hasn’t read raving reviews about EOS Lip Balms? Right? And who hasn’t seen the picture where Chuck Bass is supposedly moisturising his lips with this egg-shaped thing? So I was really, really excited when I saw it in stock at Wishlist. I so love good lip balms and Chuck Bass.
This particular flavour that I got is Summer Fruit, most people gave this one thumps up for its smell so when I couldn’t decide which one to pick, I ordered this. And truly it has an incredible fruity smell. It tastes a li’l sweet too. Not a fan of flavoured lip products, but ah well, I am not really bothered.
Oh, did I mention, the deep coral-ly egg looks super adorable! And it’s really hygienic not poking your fingers in the pot and directly applying the dome on your lips.
Now on to how good is the actual product inside. The balm in the sphere is firm enough to not melt in summer and smooth enough to apply. I am currently using the The Body Shop Born Lippie, Vaseline in Cocoa Butter and THIS for my lips! So compared to the TBS one, which I used to love until I found out it kind of sucks moisture out of the lips and you have to keep reapplying after every hour, the EOS Lip Balm certainly rates better. But currently Vaseline in Cocoa Butter is my HG lip balm because it smells of delicious cocoa butter AAH, is tasteless and VERY moisturizing. Compared to it the EOS Lip Balm does make the lips smooth but is a tad drying and not that richly moisturising for me.
Some people may like or some may not that this lip balm doesn’t leave any glossy or greasy look/feel. It is kinda invisible, a very fine layer which only you can see. It’s like you are wearing almost nothing. So in this case, it works out great for applying underneath lipsticks.
I love this little coral eggie because it is super cute, Chuck Bass (maybe) used it and a great travel product. But would I repurchase it? Probably not! I have heard that cocao butter is very moisturising for the lips. So I would probably try the The Body Shop Cocoa Lip Butter if had to next.

RATING

I think it’s a little overrated on the web. I love it only for its cuteness!
