Getting Rid of Wrinkles with Restylane

When it comes to getting rid of wrinkles, some people will try just about anything. From various weird and wonderful diets, creams and cosmetic surgery procedures, there are countless ways of trying to get the younger looking skin we all want.
For the most part, preventative measures will be most effective in the long run. Simple things like avoiding getting too much sun, not smoking, sleeping properly, drinking plenty of water and eating enough fruits and vegetables can make a huge difference to the way your skin looks and feels.
The way you take care of your skin can also make a difference to the appearance of wrinkles. Regular skin cleansing can help, although cleaning your face too often can rob the skin of natural oils and moisture that can help prevent wrinkles. While there's also plenty of anti-aging creams out there, a simple moisturiser can make a big difference if used regularly.

Topical Treatments
There has been a considerable amount of research into various topical treatments which can be used to help ease the appearance of wrinkles. Most of these are included in the various over the counter anti-aging products that are widely available.

Alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) help remove dead skin cells and can reduce the appearance of wrinkles around the eyes. Idebenone is an antioxidant which has been shown to improve skin hydration and reduce the visibility of wrinkles. Topical vitamin C was found to increase collagen production and helps protect the skin from UVA and UVB rays.

The FDA have approved Retin A as a topical treatment for wrinkles, and the prescription cream can be used to treat both fine lines and moderate wrinkles.
Cosmetic Treatments
One of the latest and most effective treatments is Restylane, a non-surgical facial treatment which works to slow and hide the effects of aging on your skin. The procedure involves filler injections which work to fill in any lines and wrinkles on your face with a hyaluronic acid-based gel, which also adds moisture and lubrication to the skin.

It has been shown to be effective at treating a number of the signs of aging, and can be used to clear up wrinkles, add volume to the skin and can even help restore facial contours. Some of the more commonly targeted areas include improving the appearance of smile lines and lipstick lines, reducing the appearance of crow’s feet, lip enhancement, reducing the appearance of wrinkles on the forehead and to restore the jaw line.

One of the things that tends to put people off of cosmetic procedures is the thought that there may be some risks or complications involved with the treatment. The Restylane procedure only involves a few simple injections and is a fairly straightforward treatment, meaning that the risk of any complication is fairly low.

There are more options than ever for improving the appearance of your skin and the combination of a healthy diet, taking simple preventative measures and taking advantage of new cosmetic technology you can stay looking younger for longer
