Annika Maya Glitter in 'Ruby' - Review & EOTD

These lightweight, ultra-fine glitters twinkle and sparkle.

As a I mentioned in my last Annika Maya review, this is a new range of mineral makeup by Brigette's Boutique. Their mineral makeup is very reasonably priced and you can check the entire collection hereThere are 18 shades of glitter each containing 5g of product. I was sent the shade Ruby.

The glitter comes in a small pot, and frankly I think the packaging is quite simple and not-so-appealing. As for the product, honestly, I am not a fan of glitters. Loose pigment eyeshadows I do use, but when it comes to putting glitter on the eyes I don't really see a point. Until you are going for a costume party or something uber fancy like that. Also we all know glitters are hard to work with.
My experience with Annika Maya glitter is no different. It is a sparkling ruby shade which I won't call ultra-fine as the brand claims. The colour indeed is gorgeous, and if you are into using glitters it will work for you well. I don't really see much of a big hit or miss with the glitters. They definitely, definitely need a good mixing medium to stay on the eyes; cream eyeshadows or Vaseline just won't work. Especially if you intend to wear them for more than an hour. There was quite some fall out while applying this on my eyes and even after, some specks kept dropping.
I applied with Vaseline on a cream beige eyeshadow (with a darker eyeshadow base the glitter will pop out more), since I never use glitters and don't have a dedicated mixing medium. However, it is very lightweight and does give a gorgeous ruby red sparkle to the eyes.

Only 'I' am not much fond of glitters, otherwise except for the not so ultra-fine particles and very simple packaging, the glitter is a good quality, stunning dark red metallic shade.
