My Summer Beauty Edit

My Summer Beauty Edit

After a very long and cold winter, finally summer has decided to drop by in Germany. And I am one of those people who adapt makeup with seasons. I can never wear a burgundy lipstick in summer because that's for winter baby. And for me spring/summer is all about those pops of colour, that bright bold pout and the neon/pastel nail polishes. So, today's post is all about the makeup products I have especially dug out for this pleasantly hot weather.

TARTE RAINFOREST OF THE SEA FOUNDATION

A foundation definitely has to be lightweight in this heat! And in these months, I even skip foundation on most days. But if I do have to wear one, nowadays, I usually opt for the Tarte Rainforest of The Sea Foundation. It's a very hydrating formula that lets skin breathe. The coverage is very natural and skin-like. Although it is advertised as full-coverage but I find it sheer to medium at most.

Inglot O2M Breatheable Nail Enamel

INGLOT O2M BREATHABLE NAIL ENAMEL

Literally, every year, every summer, I wear the shades 659 and 685 from the O2M Nail Enamel range non-stop. Inglot claims the polishes are breathable which lets oxygen and water pass through them. Therefore, no matter how long I wear them for, there is no discolouration on my nails. I hate it when my nails get yellow or tinted when I take my nail polish off.

ESQIDO UNISYN LASHES - BREAD & BUTTER

Use code shangj to get 15% off!
These are the most natural-looking lashes in my collection! No matter how lightweight your falsies are you do feel their weight, which is something I don't mind, usually. But when it's hot and humid and I still wanna look glam I prefer something super feathery like Bread & Butter.

Kiko Super Colour Eyeliner and Colourpop Creme Gel Liner

KIKO SUPER COLOUR EYELINER - 107 BLUE MAJORELLE

Who else loves an electric blue eyeliner? I am OBSESSED with it! It's pretty hard to find the right kinda bright blue pigmented liquid eyeliner. And at the moment, this one by Kiko does tick all the boxes.

COLOURPOP CREME GEL LINER

I love adding a pop of colour on my eyes. Punch is a vivid electric yellow that looks gorgeous on the lower lash line. Fast Lane is a dark bluish-teal which is not that summery but I've been loving wearing it lately, so had to include it here. Apart from these two, the Colourpop Creme Gel Liner range is a must-have altogether.

NYX SOFT MATTE LIP CREAM - MILAN

Just got this shade recently and can't stop wearing it! Milan is a bright cool-toned pink. And if you have ever tried the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams, you might already be aware of their velvety formula. Check out this post for my swatch!

Marc Jacobs Air Blush - Line and Last Night

MARC JACOBS AIR BLUSH - LINES & LAST NIGHT

If I have to choose only one shade for a blush, that would be coral. I can wear a coral blush all year round but the love for it intensifies in summer. Lines & Last Night is a beautiful warm peachy-coral. The Marc Jacobs Air Blushes are nicely pigmented, very silky and blend so well. Like their name they give a very air-brushed, radiant and fresh look! I own all five shades and the formula is consistent throughout.

SEPHORA #LIPSTORIES - 17 CARNIVAL FUN

Another of my recent favourites, Sephora #Lipstories have stolen my heart. They have an amazing range of colours with a highly pigmented, creamy formula. I can't get enough of Carnival Fun which is a stunning pinkish-coral. Sadly this colour is not available in all the countries!

BENEFIT WATT'S UP

I am usually not a cream highlighter person but sometimes they do have their place in my life. And when they do Benefit Watt's Up is a pretty great option. I have its mini version, as I said I do not use cream highlighters that often. That being said, this one gives a soft, champagne glow that looks insanely gorgeous.
