MY OPINION
The day I heard of this collection I was desperate to get my hands on it. Of course, the packaging is what pulled me to it initially. The packaging although is of cardboard and not the sturdiest but the fun designs on each lipstick makes up for it. Each lipstick has its individualised illustration and a story behind it. You can read each story on Sephora, under their product description.
I picked up three of these lipsticks and realised later that two of them are not available in the US. I got 17 Carnival Fun, 20 Buzz Me and 36 Spring Break (this one's available in US). This collection comes in 40 shades and 3 different finishes; cream, satin and metallic. Mine are all cream!
In formula, Sephora #Lipstories Lipsticks are highly pigmented, super creamy and very, very hydrating. Although my experience is only related to the three shades I own, I find all three very comfortable to wear. They do not emphasize any lip imperfections and I love how smooth they look on my lips. Just one swipe and I am good to go!
17 Carnival Fun is a bright coral and has a special place in my heart, just because of my love for everything coral. 20 Buzz Me is a bold pink with warm tones, something I can't get enough of in spring/summer. And 36 Spring Break is a mid-toned rosy pink shade, perfect for all year round.
These lipsticks do not last very long, around 3-4 hours on my lips, which I think is expected from such a creamy formula.
I can say with utmost surety this classic cream formula is BOMB. A must-have in your collection if you love semi-glossy, juicy, hydrating lipsticks with intense colour payoff. And of course, you cannot argue with the price tag! It's just 8 bucks and you need to give at least the 'cream' finish a try.
