Review: NYX Powder Blush in Pinched

Our pressed powder blush delivers sheer, silky color that glides on, blends beautifully and creates a natural glow. The formula is richly-pigmented and lasts for hours.

PKR 700 ($ 6.00)
I bought it from BeautyUnleashed.
International readers can order it on NYX Cosmetics or Cherry Culture.

NYX Powder Blush is available in 27 shades. With such a wide shade range it is hard not to find a shade you can fall in love with. The blush comes in a square pan and has a quilted surface. The cover is transparent, which makes it easy for you to see the colour inside.

I have been in love with NARS Orgasm for so long, but it is way out of my budget. Since then I have been on a lookout for a good dupe. Sleek Makeup’s Rose Gold Blush and NYX’s Pinched blush are the closest dupes to Orgasm. Frankly I prefer Sleek blushes over most brands, but Rose Gold being so much in demand was out of stock and I just couldn’t wait till Feb to order. Beauty Unleashed was my angel in disguise because of her hard-to-beat, most reasonable prices compared to all the international makeup stores or agents we have for Pakistanis online; not to forget this page is owned by the sweetest girl. I ordered NYX Pinched blush through her.
The NYX label on this blush arrived worn out for some reason. Throughout I had mixed feelings about this blush. I was prepared to fall in love with it the instant I lay my eyes on it; but I DIDN’T. The first time I applied it I was NOT dazzled. I found the glitter in it chunkier than usual, meaning that you have to use a very light hand to apply it. The second time I applied it, I loved it, the light hand paid off. Buffing and blending this blush is the key. It is a pinkish peach with gold shimmer in it, and very flattering on the cheeks. It is quite well pigmented; I don’t swirl in the pan more than twice. It doesn’t last too long but fades evenly. I have not used Orgasm but the online swatches tell you that they are somewhat alike and it is one quarter of its price. I am really glad I bought it; one, I wanted a NYX powder blush in my vanity case; two, I wanted an Orgasm dupe.

If you are looking for Orgasm’s dupe and for some reason can’t get Sleek Makeup’s Rose Gold, the cheaper alternative is definitely this blush. And if you just want a flattering blusher shade, than NYX Pinched is a great, inexpensive choice.
