John Frieda - FRIZZ-EASE® Hair Serum Thermal Protection Formula

In Summer most of us face hair problems. Hair tend to get greasy, dry or frizzy. And another very common hair issue is hair damage because of heat-styling and hair colour. To eliminate some of your problems, today I am going to review John Frieda Frizz-Ease Hair Serum.

There are four serums in this line out of which I bought the one which gives Thermal Protection while de-frizzing. It also claims that it protects against colour fading.

With a Thermal Shield Complex, protective formula safeguards strands and creates a layer of protective gloss.
Instantly shields all hair styles against the damaging effects of heat styling that can cause frizz and UV exposure.
Makes hair smooth and silky with vibrant shine whether you style straight or curly.
Minimizes color fading.

Directions to use:
Apply to SOAKING WET HAIR. Use sparingly, dispensing a dime-size amount of serum into palm. Rub hands together and distribute evenly throughout hair. AVOID applying directly to ROOTS. Use more or less depending on hair length and thickness. Can also be used on DRY HAIR to smooth, shine and protect. DO NOT RINSE OUT.

Price: PKR 695 per 50ml

Bought from: Al-Fatah

First I’d like to tell you I don’t use much of hair serum, because most of the days now my hair are perfectly fine and healthy and I have got naturally straight hair (not dead-straight). This hair serum has worked out better than all my last purchases which is a bonus. I bought this mainly as a heat protectant. I use it before ironing/curling my hair. Honestly, I heat-style very seldom so I just can’t really tell you if it has lessened hair damage or not, because my hair are not a victim of excessive heat. But yes applying it does give me a peace of mind. Now for the frizz part, I prefer to apply the serum after towel-drying concentrating more on the ends. Serum works best on half-wet hair and yes after drying, my hair feel smoother, definitely glossier and they do not weigh down. Plus, when I apply on tower-dried hair there is no frizziness at all. But there are bad hair days too (maybe when I don’t care to apply serum after washing) and my hair seems tangled and dry. Then I apply the serum on dried hair, and to some tiny extent the frizz, dryness is controlled, but not as perfectly as I would want.  To get best results, use it on towel-dried hair. Either way, the serum is not greasy at all. Just use a tiny amount, DO NOT use too much or you’ll end up with lifeless hair.

I don’t use any kind of hair colour so I can’t say anything about colour fading.

The bottle comes very effectively packed. It has a pump nozzle. I like the way you can lock the bottle's nozzle turning it to one side. It smells great, subtle and luxurious.

I’d consider this hair serum a good investment for all hair types. It protects, de-frizzes and makes your hair shine.

What's saves your hair in Summer?

Blog of the Week #2

I browsed upon this blog one day and what hit my eye instantly were the mirage of metallic-red painted nails (which she called the Christmassy looking manicure), it was also the one thing keeping me from hitting the home button. To mesmerise an onlooker like that is a feat in itself and it is because of this that I give the blogger full points. So today's Blog of the Week is

Swatchaholic - The Disneyworld of Nail Manicures

Jeanette is a nail polish blogger from Germany. What’s amazing about this particular nail polish blog is that with all her nail posts we get so many other things to complete the meal like previews, makeup swatches, hand care, tutorials etc. From feminine to casual to funky, there’s not a nail colour or high-end brand you’ll miss. China Glaze, Essie, Chanel, OPI, Lancome, Illamasqua, Zoya, you name it and it's there. The beautiful precision with which she applies the polish and the style with which she shoots the pictures is a commendation only onto her . Each colour makes you fall in love with it because she brings out the best in it, making it look 10 times more beautiful.

And here's a fun-fact that for me gives her the edge: she replies to EACH and EVERY comment. I love bloggers who do that!

My Favourite Post

I just couldn't pick one. This last metallic-red manicure was her first post that I saw. And for the rest of them, well I couldn't stop myself from going to back to her blog and feast my eyes with these nail images again.

Saturday's Regular - Blog of the Week

Hey ladies! I am just here with a quick update about a post I'd be doing every Saturday. And I am all high about it!

There so many blogs that I love to stalk. They inpsire me, they are my shopping guide and when I am going through them I wish I was as good. Some have the fun-nest of writings, some have photography that mesmerizes me or some bloggers have such striking-looking FOTDs and all that I cant stop chasing them. But in the end these all are beauty blogs. I want everybody who's following me or reads my blog to know more about these super-amazing bloggers out there. (Not that people already don't know about them) So every Saturday I'll be posting about a blog that I love to stalk. (Hope I can keep up with the pace of meeting a deadline every Saturday *_*) And if you are here in this section, then I definitely love your blog ^_^

Stay tuned for this Saturday's

Maybe that blog is yours. ;) (Lol! I sound like a tv commercial)

Love,
Shang J.

P.S: Let me know what do you think of this?

Sigma Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki - F80

Yes, yes, this Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki - F80 is my first Sigma brush as per joining the Sigma Affiliate Program. And my how excited I was to test it out that I even forgot to take the initial pictures. So pardon me if the brush is a little dirty. I have been applying foundation with it. Read on to know how did Sigma F80 treat me.

Sigma says:
This exclusive flat top synthetic kabuki was designed to deliver a flawless makeup application. The Sigma Makeup F80 is a buffer brush that can be used to blend powder or liquid products. The short and dense bristles make it easy to buff your liquid foundation. The long handle adds comfort to your makeup application. The synthetic fibers are ideal to be used with liquid products and can be easily cleaned. Made of Synthetic Sigmax HD filament.”

Now for the first look. The brush came beautifully packaged in a red translucent bag. Out of it came a Welcome Card, a catalogue on Face Edition range, a pamphlet on Sigma Affiliate Program and the F80 Brush itself.

F80 has a luxurious look to it. It has a handle that can be comfortably held. And it so flat that it can even stand upright. The minute I slid fingers on the bristles I was IN LOVE. Nothing had ever felt this smooth. I couldn’t help gliding the brush again and again on my face. I didn’t even want to tarnish it at first. But then I finally coerced myself to test it out with Maybelline Wonder Finish Foundation and see for myself what Sigma claims about this brush.

Here's a closer look!

The brush buffed out the foundation so well, gliding smoothly that I was hell impressed. It felt like air brushing. It effortlessly blended the foundation like magic. I did not see any lines, streaky marks or uneven surface after that. My face had a perfect finish. F80 did not eat any product at all which most brushes tend to do.

I used F80 to apply blush as well. It is a foundation brush first but it still managed to blend my blush well. Though it does not pick up the blush that easily so you need to build it up. For perfect blush application you need the Angled Top Synthetic Kabuki - F84.

Well, washing this brush could be a little difficult as it is quite dense and it takes time drying out. But seriously who’s complaining about this beauty.

Compared to the MAC brushes, F80 is as unbeatable plus coming with a cheaper price tag of $16.00. It gives a beautiful finish to your foundation while not being a load on your budget.

PRICE: $16.00

May - Top 8

Hey Beauty Lovers!

This is my first post on ‘Favourites’. I have short-listed 8 of my favourite products of May in random order. Go ahead take a look!

2.   A mini Lipstick from the BEAUTY BASICS Makeup Kit

Well, as you can see the lipstick is a beautiful pink. Not too dark, not too light. I keep on applying this with a transparent gloss. And I absolutely love it.

3.   Sleek MakeUP Pout Polish in Electro Peach (Read review HERE)

4.   Sleek MakeUP blush in Pan Tao (Read review HERE)

5.   Cosmeceutique Under Eye Gel (Read review HERE)

6.   Saeed Ghani Skin Polish

Though I have not used much of it. But still whenever I use it I feel fresh and my skin feels so clean. I keep it in the fridge which adds to the refreshing sensation.

7.   Luscious Incredible Lash Mascara

This is my favourite mascara so far. It actually lengthens my tiny eye-lashes, and manages to give some volume too. But being a waterproof masacara it takes time to take it off.

8.
Kryolan Aquacolor Cake Eye liner

It has been ages I have used any other eye liner; except for a pencil one on rare occasions. What I like about this is that I can lighten it or darken it however I want. I am more of an eye-liner person than a kajal one. I use this throughout the month. And even in this hot, humid weather the eye-liner doesn't smudge or crease on my eyes.

So these were my Top 8 for the month of May. Hope you enjoyed reading about them. If you want me to review any of these products let me know in the comment section below.

Sleek MakeUP - Pout Polish (Electro Peach) and Blush (Pan Tao)

Hey Ladies! I know it has been a long time since I last posted. But I have been pretty busy with lots of stuff. Now that some of the stuff is over, I am back to blogging and clicking pictures.

Today's review is about two of the latest Sleek MakeUP products I bought through Sara Hassan.

Pout Polish in Electro Peach & Blush in Pan Tao

Pout Polish in Electro Peach

Price: $6.50

Bought From: Sleek MakeUP

"A tinted lip conditioning balm formulated with natural oils such as Almond Oil, Shea Butter, Avocado Extract and Vitamin A, C and E to help condition the lips and lock in moisture. It also includes SPF15 to help protect the lips from sun exposure."

This Pout Polish is somewhere between a lip gloss and a lip balm. A gentle swipe leaves on your lips a sheer wash of colour but that colour is build-able so you can always use it as a gloss too. I prefer using it like a gloss. I love the super-pigmented colour it turns into.

I don't think there's much to say about the packaging, the pictures say a lot. You can clearly see being in black it gives such an majestic touch. This gloss/balm comes in a pot rather than some tube so some people may find the idea of applying with fingers or brush a bit uncomfortable. I use a brush to apply on my lips.

It has a strong flavour, sugary and sweet. I am not much of a flavoured gloss lover, so it does slightly bother me. It has a got a rich fragrance to it.

As you can see in the swatch the gloss/lip balm is pretty pigmented. Though the shade is a little lighter than what it appears to be in the pot. The shade is a gorgeous coral which gives such a fresh look. And with just a light swipe on your lips you can attain a beautiful natural peach sheen on your lips.

Pout Polish
stays on your lips for 2 hours and even after you can see a hint of colour on your lips. Plus, it conditions your lips while giving you SPF 15 sun protection. With Pout Polish you get a gloss that cares for your lips. What more can you want!

Blush in Pan Tao

Price: $6.50

Bought From: Sleek MakeUP

"Create dynamic angles for added definition or opt for a light dusting to finish your peachy take on 2011’s spring make-up."

Pan Tao is from the limited Avoir la peche Collection. The packaging again is very cool. The blush comes with a mirror.

This blush is not quite pigmented. It is a matte medium coral shade. I love blushes with peach and orange tones. The shade of this blush is very flattering on the face. I applied this blush in the morning and it retained its colour till evening, till I wiped it off myself.

Overall, Electro Peach Pout Polish and Pan Tao Blush are my LOVE right now. I use them as often I can and I still can't seem to get enough.

Have you ladies tried any of these?
